Wasowski waited for months. He waited at the shelter he ended up at for months before we met him and then when he became a Swampie he waited without an adopter for months longer.
Then one day a Swampie supporter went to get a hair cut. The subject of dogs came up, and he happened to mention this hunky one eyed dog that he knew that was up for adoption. Within 24 hours a lady who had never heard about Swamp Haven before had a meet set up with Waz and another 24 hours later he was on a home visit with her. It’s simply amazing how one share or one mention to someone can truly make the difference of getting a dog adopted.
Wasowski, now Wally, has a mom that has fallen head over heels for his gentle big boy spirit and his old soul ways. She has allowed him the time he needed to decompress in her home and figure out what the good life was all about. He now spends his days playing with his favorite monkey toy, taking naps by the fireplace and going on long walks with mom. We are so beyond happy for Wally and all the exciting “firsts” mom has already planned for their life together.
