Vince
What better way to start the new year than to wake up every morning in the place that you’ve felt the safest you ever have, and to finally be able to call this place HOME.
When we first met Vince, he was a shell of himself. He was surrendered to the shelter about 30 pounds underweight due to financial constraints, but the way he cowered to the ground any time a human approached him suggested more than just money problems Despite the fear in his eyes, he crawled over with his little tail wagging when we said hi and the rest was history. We knew he deserved a chance to truly feel the love of a good home and wonderful family.
Vince’s foster home offered the patience, understanding, safety (in the form of his very own comfort tent for those extra spooky moments) and unconditional love that he needed and he’s never looking back! Especially because his foster family decided that life just wouldn’t be the same without him so they decided to officially adopt
Not only was Vince growing braver day by day, but his sister Arya was too! She helped Vince build his confidence and soon he was so confident that when they tackled a bridge walk that Arya was always too scared to cross, she followed him over that bridge for the first time in her life And yes, this was around the time that we started secretly hoping his foster family would just adopt him already
Dogs like Vince that have obviously been through a trauma, more traumas than we could possibly even know, are often the most resilient. He no longer growls at the sight of a TV remote or cowers at a hand coming to pet him because he was given the time and space to heal. We are so incredibly thankful to his family for giving Vince the life he’s always deserved and for showing him that he’ll never have to feel scared or unwanted ever again
Happy forever, Vinny! You deserve it, buddy.
