Forrest

When we dropped Forrest off at his foster home, the silly and goofy boy we’d grown to love all but disappeared. In his place was an incredibly unsure and insecure boy that was obviously a lot more sensitive to change than we realized Treats were foster dad’s best friend as he helped Forrest get comfortable in his new surroundings and work to build his confidence in all the ways we were surprised to learn he was lacking. It made us so sad to think that his adorable and playful personality was being outshined by his insecurities and nerves.

THIS is why fostering is so important - we’re able to learn things about the dogs in our care that we otherwise wouldn’t have any idea about if they’re stuck in boarding. Foster homes not only help our dogs grow into the best versions of themselves, but they help us learn what the very best home for each and every dog is so that we can set everyone for as much success as possible!

Fast forward a month or so and Forrest is still working to conquer some fears, but goes out on the town to local dog parks and dog friendly breweries and shines! He now cuddles in the bed he was so adamant on avoiding, he’s showing off his training smarts, and zoomin’ all around the yard! He’s grown so much in his time in this foster home that foster dad is now just “dad” and Forrest is home We couldn’t be happier for this gorgeous brindle boy and are just so thankful for people like his dad that showed him nothing but the understanding and compassion that Forrest needed to grow. Happy forever, sweet boy.
