Meet Peaches
March 2023
We met this fuzzy, grimy, crusty, pink baby on Thursday when we made an emergency trip to Bradford County Sheriffs Office Animal Services when they announced they had 50 dogs in 25 kennels and were in dire need of help. Our car was already full with 3 new rescues but Tori and I looked at each other and just knew that we’d be coming back for this precious soul. Despite the level of discomfort she must have been in, despite her inflamed skin and the sores all over her body, and not having a care in the world that her coat might be in the worst condition we’ve ever seen, she was all tail wags and kisses in her kennel Peach has a vet appointment tomorrow and we cannot wait to get her on the up and up so she can be her best, fuzziest, peachy self!
We committed to Peaches knowing she’d put us over capacity because we simply couldn’t bear to leave her at the shelter in this condition, but this officially means that we are FULL for intakes until further notice
We have pulled 4 dogs in the last 5 days. We have 7 dogs in foster homes and even more in boarding but this job never ends and we NEED HELP. We need fosters (better yet, adopters), or we cannot continue to help the dogs like Peaches who so desperately need it before they’re euthanized due to overcrowding. Every single shelter we work with across the state is full and begging for help on a daily basis. We have so many dogs we want to save, screenshot after screenshot of dogs that we’d take if we could, but we need your help to do so.
Update as of May 2023
Peaches is HOME.
Peaches was found in a parking lot with horrible, angry skin. We met her on a trip to go pick up another dog and we left the shelter not being able to stop thinking about Peach. We were able to pick her up shortly after, and get her into a foster home where we worked on getting her skin healthy.
Many many baths, medications, a dental and one sweet foster momma doing everything for our gal and Peaches skin is growing back into the softest coat ever and she is feeling herself.
During that time we watched a relationship bloom (one we secretly hoped for ) and Peachy did what Peachy does best. She charmed each and every person she met, and especially her foster mom, who she now just calls MOM.
