Michele
It’s been a hot minute, but many of you who follow us may remember Momma Michele. We rescued her the morning of her euthanasia date. Michele has kept us on our toes since, from surprising us with being pregnant - we got to raise and find homes for seven adorable babies - and from there her medical never seemed to end. From allergies that never quit, bad teeth, bladder stones, UTI’s, pneumonia, heart problems, it was never a dull moment, and made her time at her foster home last a little longer and then a little longer while we figured out what she needed.
In that time her foster parents got to watch Michele slowly learn to not always take life so seriously and one day she picked up a toy, then another day she got the zoomies. They got to watch her bond with each of the other three dogs in the house in very different ways, and make many awkward attempts to express her love- mostly by getting as uncomfortably close to your face as she could and staring - and they saw Michele sleep the sleep of a dog who finally truly felt safe, and while Michele’s heart was healing she sucked her foster families hearts right in too… and to no surprise to many of you, Michele’s foster - YES I KNOW, IT’S ME - (Tori) became her forever.
I would have laughed in your face if you told me the day we rushed down to save her life and I loaded her up in my car I was actually just taking her straight home. But I suppose the world is full of Swampie magic now isn’t it.
