Meet the Powerpuff Girls: Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom
Hours before they were set to be euthanized, we made an emergency trip to rescue these sweet girls. We fell upon the post asking for urgent help by happenstance and we couldn’t sit by while these puppies lives were in danger. They are in EXTREMELY rough shape. Covered in grime, feces, fleas, and ticks (which took over an hour to get off), but stayed incredibly patient while we did what we could to make them feel better. They have significant scabs, scarring, and are clearly malnourished. One of these pretty girls even has a hole completely through her ear, which looks to resemble the perfect circle of a cigarette burn. They have obviously been through trauma, and are fairly shut down. So much so that they will not walk on their own, but let us carry them to and from.
While we are happy to report that Bubbles and Blossom are now both healthy and happily adopted, their sister Buttercup always seemed to lag behind them in recovery. We found out this poor 8 month old puppy had severe kidney failure, our vet believes from being dehydrated for too long, and suffering long term damage because of it. While Buttercup did not get the life she deserved and we so wanted for her, she got to spend a couple months being doted on by her foster turned forever family, and she was able to experience the feeling of love and safety, what we want for all of our dogs.
